Three Steps to Using Agents in 2025
Let's wander into speculation & imagine how you might take advantage of the looming "Agentic World".
As we've discussed, it probably starts with automation. Maybe (hopefully!) you're one of the 10,000+ people using a version of my PMax script. If you are, thank you!
If not, and if you're still scared scriptless, I built something just for you, no login required: 8020agent.com/scary
Because I don't believe anyone can justify still being scared of copying & pasting in 2025 :)
But scripts were just my way of getting you excited about this journey from Ads to AI.
The next step on that bridge is agents. And I see three distinct stages ahead:
Stage 1: Experimenting with Agents
This is where many of the leading agencies are now - getting comfortable using them, understanding their limits and capabilities. Like any new technology, the key is to start small, focus on specific tasks, and build confidence in what's possible.
If you're not there yet, I think this is your core focus for the first part of 2025.
Stage 2: Building Your Own
This is where it gets interesting. As with many decisions in tech, moving from buying to building gives you more control.
Off the shelf will get you 80% of the way there. Building (might) give you exactly what you want. After all you're a control freak like me aren't you??
But it takes resources. Get someone on your team writing scripts (I'll teach them!) ... then they'll love moving on up to building mini tools & micro apps.
Note: this is also a MASSIVE opportunity to create/build these automation/AI tools for your clients. Maybe not the ones still using paper invoices and a slide rule but for a business that's looking ahead, they will want help - ideally from you.
Stage 3: Owning the Future
If you build something useful, you can probably sell it to other freelancers, brands and agencies.
Right now lots of people sell Google Ads training or give away their audit checklist. But information isn't always enough.
As Bucky Fuller reminds us "It's the use of tools that changes our thinking"
That's why I've built 8020agent.com and why for now it's free to use. You can even use the tool with sample data to see if it's useful, then create an account & add your own. Your data stays private, I can't see it.
I want this to become a tool that you find indispensable in your day-to-day management.
