ExtraHuman
Nine years ago, I started using this word to describe what I thought AI could become.
Not artificial intelligence that replaces humans. Something better.
ExtraHuman Works on Three Levels
1. Augmentation
AI that makes you more of what you already are. More creative. More capable. More yourself. Not a replacement - an amplifier.
Your ideas, multiplied. Your skills, extended. Your capacity, expanded.
2. An Extra Human
A well-built AI system is like having another person on your team. Or several. Someone who knows your business, remembers your conversations, handles the tasks that drain you.
The 8020brain isn't a chatbot you query. It's a colleague that works while you sleep.
3. The Extra-Human Stuff
What will always draw us toward other humans? Judgment. Creativity. Empathy. Relationships. The messy, interesting, deeply human things that machines can't replicate.
When AI handles the repetitive work, you get to focus on what makes you irreplaceable.
Most people use AI like a search engine with a personality. Ask a question, get an answer, move on.
That's not what this is.
When you give AI rich context about who you are - your goals, your constraints, your way of working - it transforms from generic assistant to genuine collaborator. It connects dots you missed. Reminds you of things you forgot. Handles the work you used to dread.
This is why skills matter. A skill is just a captured specification. Instead of explaining what you want every time, you explain it once. Now the AI knows what "correct" looks like. Now it can run without you watching.
ExtraHuman. That's what we're building toward.
